Gran Canaria is a little great continent located in the Atlantic ocean, an island different from any other. Gran Canaria is under protection as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It is the second most populous island of the Canary Islands. Gran Canaria is the perfect place for active people with 60 kilometres of beaches along 236 kilometres of coastline under a gentle sun. It is an island with lots of changing sceneries, a thousand beaches and a sea of history and culture . Gran Canaria is noted for its variety of microclimates. The average temperature is 20°C in winter to 26°C in summer.

The east coast of the island is flat, dotted with beaches. The western coast is rockier and mountainous. The north tends to be cooler. The south is warmer and sunny.and is famous for the variety of beaches. The longest beach is Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. In the Morgán area there are other famous beaches such as Amadores, Anfidel Mar, Playa de Mogán and Puerto Rico.

Gran Canaria Airport is located 25 km from one of the most important tourist centres of the island of Gran Canaria and 18 km from center of the capital. It is one of the busiest in Spain and the only commercial airport on the island.

Gran Canaria is the great place for all sportsmen and women, surrounded by beaches, with a sea of opportunities for sports. This popular island with great temperatures even during the winter months is a refuge for surfers and for those mad about windsurfing, divers, and sailors. You can go hiking in the forests, play golf on the edge of a volcanic crater, go running along the sea front, go surfing in hidden away beaches. Golf tourism finds a perfect scenario in Gran Canaria. The island has a strong golf tradition.

There is relatively little crime in the resorts. Life there is cheaper than elsewhere in Spain thanks to lower VAT on all goods.
